Team Sports

Emphasis on cooperation, communication, and shared goals:

Beach Volleyball, Soccer, Kickball, Capture the Flag, Ultimate Frisbee, Dodgeball (soft foam balls only), Relay Races (various formats), Tug-of-War, Frisbee Golf – Team Format, Flag Football, Team Obstacle Course, Challenges, Sharks & Minnows, Parachute Games and many more!

Individual Sports

Emphasis on independence, confidence, and personal progress: 

Long Jump (sand pit), Hula Hooping, Throwing & Catch Skill, Frisbee Accuracy Toss, Balance Beam / Balance Challenges, Yoga & Stretching, Mindfulness Walks, Solo Obstacle Course, Sandcastle “Build Challenges”, Target Toss Games (bean bags, rings, hoops), Speed & Agility Time Trials, Boogie Boarding and many more!

Ocean / Water Activities

Our ocean time is designed to build confidence, respect for the water, and pure beach-day joy — always supervised closely and coordinated with LA County Lifeguards:

Boogie Boarding, Swimming, Wading & Wave Play (age-appropriate, shallow-water fun), Morning Paddle Sessions, Water Safety Basics (how to read the ocean, rip-current awareness), Tide-Line Exploration (foam, kelp, shells, sand crabs), Ocean Observation Games (spotting dolphins, birds, and changing tides), Sand & Water Engineering (channels, pools, and “river builds”), Bucket-Brigade Team Relays and lots more!

All ocean activities follow strict protocols and are adjusted daily based on conditions, lifeguard guidance, and each camper’s comfort level.

Creative Performances

Encouraging self-expression, creativity, and confidence through playful performance:

Talent Shows, Short Skits, Ensemble Performances, Improv Games, Lip Sync Battles, Puppet Theater, Juggling, Flash Mob Dance Parties, Sand Castle Sculpture “Show & Tell” and way more!

Arts & Crafts

Our Arts & Crafts program encourages creativity, confidence, and imagination — with projects kids love taking home and sharing with their families:

Tie-Dye Shirts (a Sandy Days favorite — offered regularly), Friendship Bracelets & Lanyards, Seashell Art & Beach Collages, Painting (watercolors, tempera, and mixed-media), DIY Stickers & Buttons, Bead Necklaces and Keychains, Nature Art (leaves, sand, driftwood, and found materials), Creative Journaling & Sketchbooks, Sand Sculpting with Tools & Molds, Recycled Art Projects (up-cycling everyday materials), Sun-Print Cyanotypes (nature-based photo art), Mask Decorating, Mini Canvas Paint Sessions, Chalk Art Murals, Seasonal & Theme-Day Project Stations and lots more!
